Society Registration Renewals
2. Registration can be done by adopting resolution to form a society with a minimum 7 members agreeing to form a society. A copy of the proposed Memorandum & Bye Laws also needs to be filed along with application. After scrutiny the registration is granted. Registration can only be done at Todi Mansion, Kolkata.
The state government has approved the amendment of the ‘Meghalaya Society Registration Rules’ directing all societies in the state to ‘Renew’ their ‘registrations’.
“We have approved the ‘Meghalaya Society Registration Rules’ as per the Registration of Society Act making renewal of registration of society mandatory in the state”, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma told reporters after the Cabinet meeting held here on Wednesday.
At present, the process of registration of the societies in the state ends only in one time registration. This has made it difficult for the government to know on the effective and ineffectiveness of the societies operating in the state.
CM said, “All societies those effective and ineffective are directed to renew their registrations for recognition from the state government”.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the implementation of the revised pay scale for the teachers of the Shillong Polytechnic as per recommendations of the All India Council for Teachers Education (AICTE).
“We have already implemented the revise pay scale and today we are approving it following the recommendations given by the AICTE”, Dr Sangma informed.
